If I didn't care about paying the city's stupidly high property taxes, I'd buy a condo there myself to flip in a few years. With Steel Point coming back (article from this summer about construction: The view from Steel Point - Connecticut Post) I think you're going to see a lot more growth in Bridgeport from young adults/families moving to Bridgeport.
I'd love to see you be correct on this prediction. But i'd be willing to make a sizable wager against your prediction.

Nightlife is not improving it is dead have you been to Downtown New Haven there several clubs and bars that pack all the time Downtown BPT is ghost town into the evening hours(There alot of homeless and strange people roaming downtown). Steel Point the only thing that been approved it is a fishing/gun/camping/hunting equipment store Bass Pro Shop(it was push back until Late 2015) I pass there every day (get on 1-95) alot of digging but no steels or no slight progress up yet. There is a conflict about the store selling guns and New CT Gun Laws. The Young people moving west is due to cheaper prices I known someone who rent a Downtown Apartment for $1300 compare to $2000 in Stamford and also they move downtown because it is closer to train station so they commuted to Stamford and NYC area. Downtown in the morning time the train station, bus station, court house area receive the most activity. "I think you're going to see a lot more growth in Bridgeport from young adults/families moving to Bridgeport" Low income and illegals who can't afford rent prices in The Bronx, Yonkers, Brooklyn, Mount Vernon, Stamford etc move west to Bridgeport, Ansonia, New Haven, Derby, Meriden, New Britain, Hartford, New London, Waterbury.

These are good food places in Bridgeport

Ralph 'n' Rich's, Miss Thelma's, Two Boots, Metric Bar & Grill, Miss Thelma's, Barnum Publick House, Joseph's Steakhouse, Taberna Restaurant, O'Manel Restaurant, Yard Jerk(Good tiny Jamaican place), Rainbow Restaurant and Ramirez(good Latina food) although it is very sketchy neighborhood
Bass Pro delayed until spring 2015 - Connecticut Post

I wonder if BPS will bring people to the City. I am not familiar with Bridgeport (though I have worked in that area occasionally on projects), but it never was the place that I would want to go to. As for as BPS, it's hunting/fishing/outdoors stuff (and no offense to Bridgeport or people from that area) but really how many hunters do you see in FFC? Cabela's located in E. Hartford is great because it is located close enough to "rural" communities that people go there. There are outdoors people in FFC but I'm not sure enough to sustain a BPS. Also...BPS can't sell half the guns they carry because they are illegal in CT.

And to get back on topic...Stamford is Cool.

Ditto. I'm also not seeing the influx of young people and the improvements downtown. A few of my favorite restaurants in downtown have shut down.

Most of my friend in their 20's and 30's avoid Bridgeport like the plague, except for Black Rock. Many have moved to Stratford, Shelton, Milford, Stamford, Norwalk, New Haven. But they don't even consider downtown B-Port.

It's not. Stamford gets 1.9 million yearly Metro North passengers to New Haven's 1.8. New Haven gets 750,000 Amtrak travelers to Stamford's 390,000. Presumably Union Station will be even busier when the northeast corridor is complete from Hartford/Springfield. Union Station is also physically larger.

The naming is also not about the busiest station, but a historical naming going back a hundred years. You'll notice the Harlem and Hudson lines aren't named after any station.

I saw those numbers on wikipedia too, but they are way off for Metro North. I'll find the correct source and repost when I land.

30,000 use the Station daily...so the numbers are off for metro North.

Maybe it's based on unique riders vs. total?

Not true. About the only way Ct gun laws are a lil more strict than most other states is the number of non felony crime convictions that prevent a Ct resident from obtaining a pistol permit and waiting periods. They do NOT have much more stricter laws on the types of guns/rifles that BPS sells all around the country.

And BPS is about one of the most succesful businesses in the world. If their research shows a market for them, its no mistake. They are very conservative with store additions.
