For New York pizza, go to New York. Here in Connecticut we have what is arguably the best pizza on the planet, New Haven style pizza. Actually I think the American pizza craze began in New Haven at the begining of the 20th century. For good pizza check out Frank Pepe's in New Haven. They also have a branch in Manchester which is closer to New Britain. Also in New Haven are Sally's and Modern which are excellent. Closer to New Britain, Harry's in West Hartford is excellent.

That said I don't think New Britain itself is known for pizza. It is known more for Polish restaurants and the great Eastside German Restaurant. Jay

Just go to NY if you're that close. As JayCT stated, New Haven does have some awesome pizza places. Going to CT and then NOT going to NY for pizza makes no sense. Florida doesn't even have any good pizza places around if you ask me. It actually was a factor in my decision to move back to NY from FL.

If you do end up going to the city, hit up Lombardi's Pizzeria in SoHo.

I may be biased, but I think New Haven pizza beats 99% of NYC pizza joints - and it's a lot closer than New Britain. It's only a half hour drive.

Try Frank Pepe, Sally's, BAR, or Modern. Those are the big 4.

Why aren't you going to NYC? Boston's boring in my opinion but I am biased as you'll never hear me put down NY.

But anyway I think a lot of people that go to Boston like that Quincy Market place.

Boston is pretty cool and has a lot of very interesting architecture and tons of history.

It is a very different city from NYC. They are both great and worth visiting.

Also, the North End totally puts Little Italy to shame as far as an amazing grouping of Italian food... Even Wooster Street in New Haven beats Manhattan's Little Italy (although NYC is still the food capital of the country in most regards).
