Speaking of tropical air masses like we have today... Check out what they saw last month.

"The Connecticut birdwatching community was chirping Thursday and Norwalk was at the heart of the excitement.

A female Brown Booby, a tropical bird usually found south of Florida, was spotted in the area and even hitched a ride on an oysterboat and on the motorboat of a local birdwatcher

it is the first time this species of bird has been recorded in Connecticut. It marks the 432nd species of bird found in the state"

"Birds are frequently spotted far away from their normal range due to a variety of reasons, such weather conditions, disorientation, or following a food source. It is unclear why the booby was in Connecticut."

lol. Or, he heard that we have tropical weather in the summer like Florida so figures why not. I bet he'll move back down cause of bird traffic.

Ironically.. he shows up around May 24th which was 5 days before our first heat wave of the year. lol

Forgot I had this thread. Way too ironic that this bird shows up in CT before the tropical airmass that started in June lasting to mid July!

So the bird brought the dreadful weather with it ? Maybe someone should pick up that bird and transport it back to where it came from. Then maybe the weather will go along there too.

For bringing that hot air along with him, he's a booby all right! LOL!
As a bird watcher/lover, I hope that he hitches a ride out of Ct. ahead of the change of season for his own health's sake.
