Hi. We are looking at moving to the NYC area, NJ, CT...one of these. I was searching for Christian schools and found a school Christian Heritage in Trumbul (sp?). Could not find pricing on that web site. So, I wondered what you all knew of the school and if anyone knew the tuition and town?

I don't know about the school, but I know Trumbull (two "els") is an upper-middle class residential suburb of Bridgeport located in eastern Fairfield County. It's a pleasant town and conveniently connected to the area's principal roadways (Merritt Parkway, Route 8, and I-95 via Route 8).

Default Christian School

Christian Heritage school is in Trumbull. It is a very good school,I think the tuition is around $10000 to $12000 a year. My wife and I sent our kids to West Woods Christian Academy in Hamden Ct. ( 20 min from Trumbull ) for half the price. West Woods was a good move for us.

Oh thank you, I will go check out West Woods too. Are Trumbull and Hamden reasonable commutes to NYC? My husband will be working in NYC.

Trumbull is within reasonable commuting distance from NYC - but it depends on what you consider "reasonable". From here, it will be about 70-80 minutes by train (station to station) or much longer driving because of traffic. Without traffic (which is rarely the case except for at night), driving is much shorter.

Stations close to Trumbull are Fairfield and Bridgeport.

Add on another 25 minutes to the commute if you live in Hamden.

Towns closer to NY (Fairfield, Westport, Norwalk, Wilton, etc) are much closer but the prices are about double what you will see in Trumbull, and in Hamden, they can be 3x more expensive (Or more!!)

My wife and I looked into this school as well, the other poster is somewhat on it is and it is a guesstimate of what they said 10-12 K per year. I would also look at Christian Life Academy First Assembly of God - Brookfield: Home at a fraction of the cost and just as good.

Default i know all about christian heritage

I am so glad you're looking to take your children to Christian Heritage! I am a parent of a student currently attending the school, and let me say, I am very impressed with the school. They recently renevated the gym (it looks wonderful) Thay also recenly put in an outside building the kids call "the barn". The barn is open once a week for kids in study halls to go, there, the counsoler talks with the group about issues going on in the world (not including others, resisting the temptation to drink, ect.) the barn is also where much of the socials take place, there is a pool table, a milkshake bar, a foosball table, a pool table, couches, a kareoke system/machine and a big screen TV. The education is great too! they really focus on challenging the kids. The Godly point of view is awsome too, they have chapels once a week and the teachers teach a bible class. If you're not a Christian though, don't worry, they don't discourage other views and they are very open and careful to focus on behavior and morals, not just Jesus.
