Am I the only one that is starting to hate this heat wave with a passion?

Hate's a pretty strong word But seriously - 81F degrees at 9:00 p.m.? After a full day of 93-95F and air so thick you need a straw?

Ugh. It is indeed getting a bit ridiculous, I agree.

Getting into my car and it shows 103 or 104 outside yeah ridiculous. It goes down to about 97 but still insane. I've been living in A/C for the last week and have not shut off the house in about 3 weeks. It's getting sickening, and I'm starting to long for the fall.

Least we forget the dew point? New Britain's was 76 at one point last hour. Funny, my mailing address doesn't say Florida.

My tomatoes and cukes are loving it. So is my corn and peppers. My lettuce and kohlrabi are not too thrilled but I cool them off with water in the morning and evening.

Anyway, I think I must be the only one around here who loves summer for what it is. I love the heat, because I know it will end. And winter can be long, like last year. But I love winter and the cold. Fall is right around the corner. The birch leaves are already beginning to yellow and fall here. Today we reached 84 degrees in the shade.

I just hope my vegetable ripen before fall comes!

El

My car showed 105 degrees at 530. Between all the rain and now extwrme heat, this weather is really weird.

Yeah, not a great summer. Too much rain and humidity and now the heat. Although I still prefer it over snow, this reminds me of why I could never live in the south. I just hate humidity. Heat alone doesn't bother me.

I usually love summer, too, but as Kevin pointed out, "East Coast" summer, not summer in Florida (no offense, Floridians, it's pretty there, but no thank you - too much humidity for me!)

I'm a little scared to see our electric bill for this month, but we've tried to take a few breaks from the air con, and the atmosphere in the house turns soupy and uncomfortable within a half an hour. Sigh.

I work outside, mostly on roofs.

It has been a complete nightmare. Im using water on the job too and it just evaporates right away and makes it worse for me.

My co worker showed signs(vomiting, shivering, confusion) of heatstroke just this wednesday in Central CT.

Im also getting nervous about my water intake and water intoxication.

I just take my time and try to "embrace" the heat...Yea sounds completely nuts, but right now I have no choice.

Yes, this! Except that if weather was the only concern, then I can actually live in the south. My issues with that part of the country are cultural and attitudes, which I guess is one and the same.

I still like this summer because it feels like, well, summer!
