New Rochelle to Rye is a 100mph zone , Express trains often hit 100mph... Sometimes during rush hour you will go as slow as 50mph due to congestion.

They never hit 100MPH in the real world. I've been on them many times and at their fastest, they're pacing traffic on the highway.

Trains have been late every day this week again, and the schedule adjusted AND STILL LATE. Horrendous.

Nexis4Jersey bases most of his posts on what he reads on another website. Many times it is not accurate. I doubt that line could handle a 100 MPH speed. Those tracks were not designed for it. Jay

You should really do some research before making accusations like that.. The tracks can handle up to 100mph , Amtrak does operate up 100mph on the NY section and 110mph East of New Haven.

Ahh, that used to be my train when I went to NCC in Norwalk and then when I took the train to Danbury. I'd be lucky if it showed up to Bridgeport before 8:30 (8:20 scheduled arrival time) 4 times a whole semester and I took it 3 or 4 days a week. The reason that was so chronically late is because it had to wait for the SLE train from Old Saybrook which was another constantly late train (supposed to show up at 8:04, average arrival time was about 8:13), so once one domino falls, the rest follow suit.

Nah, that flat as a pancake stretch from New Rochelle to Harrison is the fastest on the line, and that express trains can get up to 90 or 100 in that stretch.

Okay okay, I concede. Out of 75 miles of track from GCT to NH a whopping what 10-15 miles is rated for 100mph. Wow, you guys really proved me wrong!

So where do you stand on the infrastructure improvements that are desperately needed? Do you want to see you tax dollars go to pay for it? Are you willing to cut the military for more infrastructure improvements? Pay more taxes? Increase the price of train tickets? Can we increase taxes on the "job creators" for this type of thing?
