Seems like those would be too spread out for the OP.

Cheshire is worth considering though.

Here we go again. The OP was considering communities like Madison and Redding, which have among the best performing schools in the state. Why we're even mentioning Branford, Shelton and Milford is beyond me.

I am reading a lot of suggestions regarding Woodbridge. Is it very rural? Also, can you please tell me more about the school system? Do they have their own high school? I would appreciate as much information on Woodbridge schools as possible. Overall, in your honest opinion, which school system is better - Fairfield or Woodbridge? You have all been so helpful! Thanks!
You live in Seymour and don't know anything about Woodbridge?

Yes, I live in Seymour, but no, I really do not know much about Woodbridge. That is why I am asking for help. Thanks.

Hi everyone,
It looks like we are narrowing down our search to Woodbridge, Orange, Monroe, or Fairfield. After reading all of your extremely helpful posts, it seems as though all of these school systems would be smart choices for my children. Your thoughts?
I would really love to hear from any and all of you who live in these towns. I am trying my best to research and learn all that I can about these towns, but there is nothing like hearing it from people who really know these places.
As always, thanks for all of your amazing input!

Hi Mommy of O & L

I may be stating the obvious here, but if you can, make sure you get to spend some time in these towns on your list. I, too, had a list based on statistics but once I was able to physically be in these towns and take it all in I was really able to zone in on the right fit for me.

Good luck with your search!

Yes, all the schools are very good.

BUT MONROE IS A TERRIBLE HARTFORD COMMUTE. It doesn't have easy access to highways. I do not recommend Monroe for your needs.

Fairfield is also the outlier of those 4 as it's very expensive.

I'm curious why Cheshire isn't on your list?

Not entirely true if you are near Route 34 and can jump on the Merritt at exit 57/58. Certainly a better commute to Hartford than Fairfield. Cheshire is another town I would add to your list.

True, though that's a small sliver of the town. For the most part it's an awkward commute, adding to an already long commute from that area.
