We too are considering a move to the CT area from NYC. We are looking to find a nice welcoming Jewish synagogue for our family. Schools are very important. My son receives physical therapy and occupational therapy
My husband will be commuting to NYC still everyday.
Any suggestions of areas?
Thank you

I've always heard the strongest Jewish community in CT is West Hartford. That might be too far for tolerance with commuting to NYC thou.

Jewish Ledger | Serving Connecticut's Jewish Communities - They have a directory list which includes NYC commuter friendly towns like Stamford, Fairfield, Stratford, etc.

West Hartford is definitely too far. Most Fairfield County towns have strong active Jewish communities. It would be more a matter of your budget, What you expect for that budget, the type of community you want and how far you can be from NYC. That information can help us help you find a good town to move to. Jay

If schools are very important and you want public schools, I would rule out Stamford. So depending on your budget - Greenwich, Westport, and Fairfield all have Jewish communities (nothing like NYC though) and synagogues. Fairfield is the furthest commute, but is also the most affordable of these towns.

Fairfield has a couple of synagogues: reform, conservative, and modern orthodox, I think. The commute is easy but not short (an hour & 15 mins.), but FF is a fantastic town.
