Electric Boat is hiring 900 new employees this year in Connecticut and confirmed they hired more than 2,200 last year. Great news for Southeast Connecticut. Jay

So the state fiancial picture continues to improve. It looks like the budget surplus is growing to over $440 million and the rainy day fund will be at over $2.3 billion. I just hope Lamont and the legislators think they can spend it. Jay

So the state continues to narrow the gap between its unemployment rate and the national average. The state’s rate is now 4.0% (which is considered full employment) while the national rate is 3.9%. We have now regained 117.7% of the private sector jobs lost in the recession. It is public sector jobs, the ones mostly paid by our taxes, that continues to lag but that is not necessarily bad given that we are trying to reduce our tax burden. Sounds good. Jay

Could the State tap into the $2.3 Billion rainy day fund to put towards the $3.8 deficit and divert 35% of lotto revenue to the deficit over the next two year's?

Then the State could legalize marijuana farming and legalize marijuana; divert some of the tax revenue into the Rainy Day Fund.

Its going to be scary when we lose all these workers in the world.
We need to stop pricing these jobs out of existence via huge mw increases.

Default Diageo HQ to exit Norwalk for NYC

Diageo North America said last week it will move its headquarters from Norwalk to lower Manhattan at the start of 2020. Connecticut will retain about 150 of the 600 local Diageo jobs as the company migrates to a denser field of talent.
