I'm willing to kinda give the governor some slack on this because to be blunt this isn't decades ago. If you invest in a mutual fund of any size it's a pool of different companies. You can't override your portfolio manager and it might make little sense to try to do so. Same goes with pension funds. If you want influence you have to get on the governing boards. There's a huge difference between direct ownership and indirect though a mutual fund or hedge fund.

Two announcements from State Comptroller Kevin Lembo. First the project budget surplus is almost $895 million which is wonderful news. It means more money going earlier into the pension funds. The second is Lembo is resigning for medical reasons. I’m very sorry to hear that because he has done a great job. Jay

Nice to hear CT finally getting deeper into the 'sin tax' game....I never understood why they would continue to induce so much pressure on middle and lower income workers when there is still SO MUCH untapped revenue in taxing residents for their vices (rather than their productivity) --online betting was low hanging fruit. As are stoners (selling the ol' mary jane there yet?).

Goodwin has been doing a lot to redevelop that part of East Hartford and improving access to the Connecticut River. Their plan is impressive. Jay

There is a new website to shop Fairfield County stores. I saw it in this article and signed up.

Good Luck to the young couple that came up with this.

Here's hoping they maintain this proposed green space better than their current green space a bit south of there

Another online retailer has chosen central Connecticut to build a massive fulfillment center. Online pet supply company, Chewy wants to build a massive 750,000 square foot $175 million facility in Windsor. Nice addition to the growing rooster of companies located in the area. Jay
