You’d also see infrastructure being stretched to its limits with things like overcrowded parks and an undersized early 20th Century mass transit system strained to the point of failure.

I know several people living there recently and the commute is their biggest complaint. One takes a bus and it takes an hour to go just 4 miles. Another traveled 8 miles but the commute was so long and unreliable he gave up, bought a bicycle and rides it instead of the bus and subway.

In fact, everyone of those I know either gave up or are wanting to give up living in Boston. One moved to New Haven. Another went to the suburbs buying a very modest house for an insane amount of money. That’s not a high quality of life, is it?

If anyone here is making up excuses, it is you. Your characterization of Connecticut is so laughable it’s absurd. Have you ever really been around our state? Apparently not. We recently had out of state visitors and they loved our states beauty and character. Sure we have ugly urban areas and suburban sprawl but we have a less of it than other states. Have you ever been to New Jersey, Long Island, Florida, Texas or a host of other states with miles and miles of sprawl stretching on forever. We do not really have a lot of that. Jay
Sounds like Fairfield County to me.

I know of no where in the State of Connecticut that it regularly takes an hour to get 4 miles. There’s a BIG difference. Jay

I get it and agree. I’m just saying that other affluent state have this same condition. It’s a normal part of the calculation. Connecticut is no different. Jay

Oh, well then, if the CEO says all is well it must be. If shareholders are calling for looking into workplace injuries- which the company tried to block!- then all is not well.

Holy cow! Connecticut’s unemployment rate has continued its drop to an astounding 3.7%. That’s great news since 4% is considered full employment. So much for the supposed recession. Great news. Jay

Or if the bottles most in use in the warehouse are not there to hold liquid refreshment, you have a workplace 19th century management would be proud of.

Efficiency at all costs.

And I will counter that the same is true in Boston. I'm calling that an occasional anomaly, not the norm. I would love to know what bus route that is.

That is true but anyone who travels the "no exit zone" from 42 to 44 on the Merrit Parkway which is a 5 mile stretch can tell you that if something happens* there it takes about 1/2 hour to travel it. Hopefully with the addition of the wide breakdown lanes that are being added on the Merritt Parkway (thanks uncle Joe) it will mitigate most of this problem.

*and it seems like this is getting to be an every day occurrence during rush hour now.

I have a question for anyone who can answer it. If New Yorkers are taking thier online jobs & businesses with them to CT that will improve CT's overall unemployment rate, right?
