Connecticut Net Migration 1425..........Population of 3.571 million (this is why our state coffers are over flowing)

Can we now dispel the myth that "all the rich people are leaving CT".

LOL. 100k in CT rich people!!

Secondly, don't misconstrue a one-off event as some sort of trend.

I used the word rich not that website.

And it is $100,00 PLUS PER CAPITA a year. That could include millionaires, you dig?

Per Capita making $100,000 PLUS a year are rich/wealthy people.

Aren't we always saying on here that Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan and Westport are rich people and you yourself said that the rich people in southwestern Fairfield County skew Fairfield County numbers?

Per Capita
Greenwich...........$108,000
Darien.................$130,000
New Canaan.........$115,000
Westport..............$115,000

The article calls those under 35 who make 100K rich and wealthy. Unless they have inheritance or bought a ton of FAANG or Tesla at IPO, found a Mickey Mantle rookie card in grandpa's attic, they're not rich and wealthy. I mean I don't know, that's how I see it. I could be wrong.
100K for single filers doesn't go very far these days in most major metros.
If your under 35 and making 500K, then you're Ballin", yes.

It could include millionaires but it is more likely that, if it did, the article would focus on that fact and not just $100k plus. Doubtful it includes millionaires.

Take another look at the article - it uses the term “rich young professionals” more times than easily countable.

See my breakdown of someone making $100k per capita above.

Ok you guys are right, they called them "rich" when they aren't "rich", time to disregard it all...

Because we love to argue semantics, let's ignore that CT had the 8th highest nominal migration of under 35 year olds making 100k+. When it's on a % of population basis CT does even better. Look at our neighbors NY (-15k of these people) and MA (-1.8k of these people) who had net out-migration.

LOL go look up what PER CAPITA means. And it is $100,000 PLUS. Did even you bother to even read the story?

Are you saying that Greenwich, Darien New Canaan and Westport aren't rich towns.

Fairfield County is the 14th richest county PER CAPITA. The money from Fairfield County is coming from somewhere, right?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._capita_income

BTW, watch when the PER CAPITA lists are done for 2022. I bet Fairfield County is in the top 10. AND YES FAIRFIELD IS RICH!

To all of the people who moved away from Fairfield County........STOP BEING JEALOUS OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY!

Many if not most of the A-List Gold Plate town residents aren't wealthy from salaries alone though.
Median salaries mean little with regards to these level of personnel. They're a different breed.

You are arguing semantics here. “Rich” is a subjective term that means different things to different people. A better term may be “affluent”.

The US median household was $67,521 in 2020. Even with a cost of living differential, I think we can agree that $100,000 is a decent income for younger families. You can call that “rich” or “affluent”, it’s just not “poor” or “modest”. It’s not worth arguing over. Jay

It is subjective but for a 30yo single filer in Metro NYC 100K doesn't buy a wealthy or affluent lifestyle. There's no question. A trust fund would go a long way though.
The definition of affluent is rich and wealthy, it's the same thing
