Here is an article on the fastest growing companies in the country. 50 Connecticut firms have made it which is not bad given the size of the state. Jay

That is the initial number but it is anticipated to ultimately grow to 500 in a short time. And this does not include the jobs being added in Wallingford. Jay

I think Connecticut is growing at a healthy rate. The negative news calmed down and now we are getting reports like the ones above about smaller companies starting to grow.

Perhaps the health of the economy is improving significantly, plus with this growth and Hartford County home prices down this could equal a very nice leap.

How do you advertise job openings now a days?

When I search for jobs in my industry its all temp jobs and or headhunter sponsored jobs. Really no direct hiring as far as I can tell. Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong websites.

Second this. I have received many offers on LinkedIn. At my old company we actually were sent to a class on how to put together a profile. Not because of jobs but because we were engineering/managers and it looked very good when the potential client would look up the names of the team members working on that project. In fact, our signature had a link to our LinkedIn page.

In the past 6 months I have turn down interviews from 5 companies whose HR director contacted me personality. I feel like monster/the news paper/ careerbuilder are done with.

They were content producer jobs which require a computer science, information systems or digital media degree or equivalent experience. Entry level positions.
