Exactly.the conversation is always "increase taxes or cut spending" as if the economy is binary. Deregulation and business incentives should be huge centerpiece. Also tax CUTS.

Peanuts comment was relative for the medical field (and in the current CT economic climate).
They are however having peanuts for dinner every night as $1.5M seems exceedingly high for Woodbridge, if they actually purchased for that insane amount there. Assuming 20% down, leaves only about 3-4K/month after take home and mortgage payment. Don't even want to know what it costs to maintain such a massive and gargantuan home as this one.

Sounds like an economic climate in CT forum cliche, or do you actually know lots of college students that literally tell you that?

Yes I am in my last year at Fairfield U alot of students say they want live in big cities or just get out CT. Stamford area is popular choice if they stay in CT because it close to NYC.

Mill rate of 34 @ 1.5 mill is ~35$ large in taxes per year. Ouch. Now THAT is relates (indirectly) to CT economy

There are an awful lot of apartments being built in Stamford these days and they are not cheap and not sitting empty. Someone is moving there. Jay

Yep, in fact, they are insanely expensive... Like 2k+ for a tiny 1 bedroom place.

^ I don't know if I entirely agree with this. Yes indeed there is massive building going on, especially in the area around target and Columbus Park, but just recently -- within the last 6 months - there was a big rebuild that was supposed to offer more high end luxury apartments (on Washington boulevard) but right before interior finishing was supposed to happen, project changed from luxury apartments to Uconn dorms. I bet right before the granite and hardwood was supposed to be installed. Substituted with Formica and carpeting of course... I personally think they're overbuilding and that there will be a price adjustment soon
