That's what makes Greenwich such an awesome town in my opinion. The diversity is unmatched.

If you mean compared to the other non-city towns of lower FFC, yes - but it's certainly not diverse compared to the rest of the world.

Yes that is what I mean. I wouldn't be comparing Greenwich to Miami, FL or London in a thread where the OP is seeking a comparison of CT suburbs.

Greenwich is much more ethnically and religiously diverse compared to Milford or the richest gold coast towns. My wife went to public school at Law and graduated with exactly one Jewish, one African American and one Indian classmate in the early 00s.

1. What does Milford have to do with anything? No one said it was racially diverse.
2. Both towns are not very diverse.

Greenwich:
The racial makeup of the town was 90.02% White, 1.66% African American, 0.09% Native American, 5.18% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 1.46% from other races, and 1.57% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.29% of the population.

Milford:
The racial makeup of Milford was 93.55% White, 1.91% African American, 0.13% Native American, 2.36% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.88% from other races, and 1.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.34% of the population.

Darien:
The racial makeup of the town was 95.97% White, 0.45% African American, 0.04% Native American, 2.42% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.30% from other races, and 0.80% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.19% of the population.

I agree with 1 and 2 above. But i have to question the source for your breakdown above. The numbers appear to be a bit dated.

Wow! I posted this topic awhile back and wandered off, now look its 18 pages. I wonder what went on between pages 4-18??

Just a quick comment to the last few posts - My issue with Greenwich is getting a 3-4 BR house for 750K seems highly unlikely. And there is something about the layout of the town I'm not totally crazy about. Can cities have Feng Shui?

On diversity, coming from L.A., NYC and Stamford I really gotta say to you folks, umm.... Greenwich may be more diverse than Arian oops I mean Darien, but come on.... And frankly, not being from the Northeast ethnicity is the least of it. I'm continually confused by many cultural differences here, like how checkers at the store can do entire transactions without speaking to you, to how aggressively people drive, to how people here find it acceptable to ask you about your ethnic or religious background in conversation. Of my friends in LA I can't think of anyone's religion, and everyone is at least 5 cultures at least 4 generations removed. It's like when your family headed West they left all the categories behind!

I've got my DH convinced he can stomach the commute from Fairfield, which he loves as well :-)
