Our freshmen democratic senator received a phone call from the President over the holiday seeking support for the proposed strike on Syria. It appears that Murphy will not be supporting the action.Murphy's Syria vote leaves him caught in the middle - Connecticut Post

This is very positive to hear that he would stand up to the President. When the President didn't say anything that convinced Murphy why we should go to Syria, Murphy responded NO! Glad he has the guts to stand up and stand behind this decisions. Go Murphy!

He's not a completely empty suit the way I thought he would be. I'm not a fan but on this issue he's right.

Good for Senator Murphy. And Blumenthal doesn't seem too enthusiastic either about Syria.

I don't think anyone is enthusiastic about Syria. It's a no-win. I'm certainly not for embolding those with chemical weapons nor indirectly supporting their proliferation. On the other hand, I'm not sure what's to be accomplished by bombing them. Even if Assad is toppled, a government filled with Al-Queda doesn't sound desirable either.

The video of the people who had been gassed was beyond horrifying.

I am totally ok with Senator Murphy going his own way on this one.

The Connecticut politicians consistantly vote the DNC party line. I'd be very surprised if they went against the party this time either.

I hate the loser but for once I thank him. We have no use for bombing Syria. Let them fight it out and kill each other.
