Any recommendations in the Fairfield County area? Unfortunately - every search I have tried yields a shop that is going out of business or one that offers very pricey "private" lesssons. I don't want to go all the way into NYC just for a knittting class - but it is something I'm interested in learning.

Thanks, but that's about 50 miles away from me. Anyone have any recs closer to Stamford?

There is a place in Westport, and one in Greenwich. Also at All About Art in Monroe, but that's a drive for you. The Knotty Girls in Fairfield is closing, I think your best bet is Greenwich or Westport.

Classes at The Knitting Niche

Knitting Central - Westport, CT (http://www.knittingcentral.com/classes/index.htm - broken link)

If you'd like to join a knitting group, here is a list, type in your zip code:
Knitters, Knitting Meetups, events, clubs and groups in your area

Hi sgFludd - How are you doing? I hope all is going well. Have you checked the adult education at the local schools? How about in adjacent towns? Also check the YMCA for classes offered or even the local library. Have a good Thanksgiving. Jay

Jay has a great suggestion, I just found that Fairfield high school offers knitting lessons, too:

I will check these out - the Knitting Niche isn't doing classes for some reason - I've been calling them since I arrived and they never had any scheduled.

Yay! I'm signed up at the TCozy for next week. OMG - tea, scones and knitting. I could become addicted to this. Thanks!

sgfludd - For some reason I think this knitting group is in for a good time now that you have joined. Hope it works out. Happy Thanksgiving. Jay
