Tom Foley to New Yorkers: Unhappy with de Blasio? Come to Connecticut Next Year - Connecticut Politics - November 2013

Can someone explain what the campaign strategy is here?

Also, I'm fairly certain with deBlasio winning by a and landslide in NYC, there won't be too many running here due to his mayorship.

Does this strike anyone else as plain weird? What am I missing?

Why do you feel so certain that NYers are going to stay? Crime is likely to trend higher-- I remember NYC before stop and frisk and the squeegie empire.... Top local tax bracket is going to push 12%. I can only imagine the exodus if more young people wete having children. I have many colleagues who are considering a full time transition.

So you believe that people are going to leave NYC because their candidate didn't win the election? That's absurd. As is this "strategy" from Mr. Foley.

If you think one party or the other is solely associated with good or bad economic times, you're foolish.

You don't know me from Adam, Mark. That said, my comments had no political overtone. I'm not equating either ridiculous party (gotcha) with economic results. However i am intelligent enough to see a potential population impact resulting from higher crime coupled with higher taxes.

Why are you 2 even debating this? CT has figured out that Foley has a screw(or 2) loose already. He won't be the nominee.

#end.

That's funny that you, as such the non-partisan, automatically equate a democrat with higher crime and higher taxes...

He does? I haven't been following news on him up till now...

I am likely to support John McKinney, but, I like to be well informed about all the candidates. Why would you say Foley has a screw loose? He seems like typical Greenwich stock to me.

I equate those responses not with a party, but rather a specific candidate and his/her agenda.Try again though.

Not for nothing but the republican nominees are garbage. Although I would rate Foley as better than most. Still I don't see many New Yorkers coming to CT in the next year that Foley would garner enough votes to substantiate campaigning there.

I am just wondering what the strategic thinking behind the ad placement is...
