Need to see it to believe it. These storms are so spotty.

The good news? Cold again and 3 possible storms. One has to be a home run!

If it is from us, and the stuff we just got/are getting, I'm surprised more snow is not forecasted. We had a ton of rain, and northern Tn is in for 2-4" of snow overnight.

7 days out. LOL....PLEASE read the nws discussion. It's a more scientific look and gives probablity instead this silly nonsense given to john q public by twc and nbc 30.

* OVERVIEW...

WHILE THERE IS CONFIDENCE IN THE FORECAST THROUGH MOST OF THIS
WEEK...THERE IS VERY LITTLE CONFIDENCE FOR NEXT WEEKEND AND BEYOND.
FORECAST MODEL GUIDANCE EXHIBITS A GREAT DEAL OF VARIANCE IN
HANDLING ENERGY IN VICINITY TO THE GULF OF THE ALASKA...WHICH WILL
HAVE SIGNIFICANT IMPLICATIONS ON DOWNSTREAM OUTCOMES.

-----

NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM MONDAY MORNING/...

COLD FRONT NOW OFFSHORE WITH NORTHWEST SURFACE FLOW ALL AREAS.
TEMPERATURES ARE FALLING SLOWER THAN EXPECTED. 10 PM VALUES WERE
3-5F MILDER THAN THE FORECAST. WE HAVE BUMPED THESE UP IN THE
DATABASE AND NUDGED MIN TEMPS UP A DEGREE OR TWO.

NOTING MOTION OF ENHANCEMENTS ON SATELLITE...EXTRAPOLATION OF THIS
TO NEW ENGLAND WOULD BRING IT TO CONNECTICUT AROUND 10-11Z...A
COUPLE OF HOURS LATER TO THE COASTAL PLAIN. THIS IS A LITTLE
FASTER THAN PREVIOUS FORECAST BUT NOT BY MUCH.

MINOR CHANGES EXTEND INTO THE SECOND PERIOD. WE MOVED CATEGORICAL
POPS A LITTLE FARTHER NORTH...NEARLY TO HARTFORD CT AND WARWICK
RI. MAY EVENTUALLY MOVE THIS FARTHER NORTH...BUT WOULD LIKE TO
SEE ALL MODELS AND NOT JUST THE INITIAL ONES BEFORE ADJUSTING
FARTHER. ALSO CONCERN ON QPF...AS 18Z MODELS AND 00Z NAM HAVE
TRENDED UP ON QPF AMOUNTS. AGAIN...WILL WAIT FOR A FULLER DATA SET
FROM THE 00Z SUITE BEFORE MAKING ANY JUMPS.

CONTINUE TO HAVE CONCERNS OF AVAILABLE QPF VS TEMPERATURE PROFILES
MARGINAL FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW. THIS WILL BE ADDRESSED AFTER THE
00Z SUITE IS IN.

Story of the winter.

Current radar . Juicy moisture! When the rain/snow line is at the Philly you know we're getting all snow here in CT.

Man that bullseye for highest snow just kept climbing north and north. Another storm even the mid term models didn't handle for us. The good thing about the longer term models though is that it warns us a potential situation is out there and we can at least prepare for that potential.
