NAM12z just out shifted 30 miles East and as a result of that shift it buries I-95 corridor with 1-2 feet of snow from Virginia to CT. Just that 30 mile shift made a difference. NAM only goes to hour84 so we don't know what it does after this.

They will change a hundred times more. Those sutle shifts make all the difference and we might not know until Wednesday the exact track

Oh jeeze, here we go again. I cringe every time I reload C-D to see if Camb has posted a "Feb 13 Major Snowstorm" thread. That's when you know it's serious. lol

lol. Once NWS posts a snowfall total forecast map if over 6" then we'll re-open the previous snowstorm thread (not a new one).

To be honest, I think we all prefer snow rather than heavy rains. Storm drains are blocked by mounds of snow. I think we need some slow/good warm melting before the rains.

GFS12z rolling out now.

Agreed on the snow > rain. Thankfully the peaks on my house are at a very steep angle so it doesn't collect much snow, but I did clear the roof over my garage.

Raleigh model site VERY SLOW to load. I bet you everyone is refreshing!

I cant do frame by frame update so will wait until its done with the time period.

Have to use NOAA's site (free)

GFS12z hour 66 (Thursday 1am) Storm off SC coast after coming from the Gulf. Light snow showers breaking out in CT at this hour. Snowing hard in Mid Atlantic.

Just got an email from the model site owner Alan Huffman

"Yes. Board traffic has been at record levels according to John. We are looking into ways to optimize during this very high traffic times."

Even NOAA is slow now. Looks like GFS holds ground. snow and a close mix for coast.

Here's the data from it for Danbury. 0.44" qpf of all snow which at 12:1 ratios means 5-6"

I'm very confident its ALL SNOW for you and Litchfield County and north of I-84. Question is how much and I'm not even going to try and guess. A shift will mean more or less for you.

What happened to trending to warmer weather? All the forecasts have lowered the temps considerably in the 10 day. Drats!
