Get where you have to be by this evening. Seeing pictures coming from down south in Baltimore and Delaware area reminds me how fast it can happen.

Update radar.. lots of snow out there still and not changing over yet for Virginia.

I hope it's not a boring winter, and we get at least a few storms that are 6-12 inches...

Northeast Temp map update: 20s and low 30s holding firm north of Virginia. It smells, feels and looks like snow here

I'm watching NFL Sunday Ticket...it's amazing to see the snow coming down in 4 of the games underway (at Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Philly, Washington)!

It's INSANE. And just think... Philadelphia and points south of us getting this before we did. LOL!

That heavy band will stay south of us.. have to see how much moisture works its way into CT later. DC reporting the changeover now but still very cold above our heads here in CT. Trenton is the closest snow report to us right now.

Updated Radar. Virga going to enter the state in an hour or so. Give it another couple hours to see flurries start.

Don't forget to report any snow totals to your local NWS office. Easy to do via twitter or Facebook. Time of report. City, state, county and total.

Yeah the irony is the Jets are at the Meadowlands just 85 miles north and nothing there......

Noticed. Hasn't made it there yet and that's what we have to watch for. That light stuff is being gobbled up by the dry air. That heavy band is sliding south of us but moisture should work northward in time. Still early. That heavy band developed few hours ago. Just like those bands we get with coastals here. Cannot be predicted before hand. Some areas got half foot from it already.

Close up look. GREarth does well eliminating the virga and very light stuff not making it to ground.

They're now talking about 8-12" in the Philly area, wild! Yet no change in the forecast further north as this snowburst is moving due east.....

I can't place a date on it (but it was a long time ago, sometime in the 1980s or 90s) I remember a channel 7 eyewitness news reporter was in Brick, NJ showing how 18" fell there in a big burst (yes 18 inches!) yet flurries in NYC and nothing in Connecticut. I think it was purely on the Jersey shore and coastal points south (like coastal Delaware and Maryland) and even Philly and all the other big cities just got flurries or less.

.
Must be those lovely water temps or that Climo calendar that says it cant snow before mid December. Comical. Did you see Atlantic City? It's moving north, NYC should start to see the flakes now but take a look what Upton says.. Lowered the precip amount and ...

LOWERED POPS SLIGHTLY WITH DRY CONDITIONS AND STRONG BANDING OF PRECIP STAYING SOUTH AND WEST OF THE REGION. TEMPS WERE LOWERED AGAIN WITH OTHERWISE NO REMARKABLE CHANGES. THINKING HERE THAT THE MAIN BAND STAYS SOUTH OF THE REGION BUT MORE PRECIP WOULD DEVELOP WITHIN THE CWA AND NEAR IT OVER THE NEXT 2-3 HOURS
