AN ARCTIC FRONT WILL CROSS THE REGION EARLY THIS EVENING.
SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS...WHICH MAY BE BRIEFLY HEAVY...ARE
EXPECTED WITH THE FRONTAL PASSAGE. IN ITS WAKE...20 TO 30 MPH
WESTERLY WINDS AND GUSTS OF 35 TO 45 MPH ARE EXPECTED THIS
EVENING. THE WINDS WILL GRADUALLY WEAKEN AFTER MIDNIGHT...BUT NOT
BEFORE USHERING IN A FRIGID AIRMASS.

TEMPERATURES WILL DROP INTO THE TEENS THROUGH THIS

SQUALLS WERE LOCATED NEAR TORRINGTON...AND MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 30
MPH.

THE SNOW SQUALLS WILL BE NEAR...
NEW HARTFORD BY 720 PM EST

SNOW SQUALLS PRODUCING A 15 TO 30 MINUTE PERIOD OF HEAVY SNOW AND
NEAR WHITE OUT CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED. GENERALLY AN INCH OR LESS
OF SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE...BUT THE SEVERITY OF THE SNOW SQUALLS
COMBINED WITH WIND GUSTS TO 45 MPH CAUSING BLOWING SNOW...WILL
SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE VISIBILITY AND CAUSE EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS
