Sunday better day of weekend.

Current temps. I bet some of you miss those 80s. Soon. Don't worry. We never had a spring/summer without 80s. Well..... I shouldn't say never. lol

We'll get some cold and very warm pops next week+ but We stay mostly seasonable. Might be a normal looking April.

Year Without a Summer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote:
In the spring and summer of 1816, a persistent "dry fog" was observed in the northeastern U.S. The fog reddened and dimmed the sunlight, such that sunspots were visible to the naked eye. Neither wind nor rainfall dispersed the "fog". It has been characterized as a stratospheric sulfate aerosol veil.[6]
At higher elevations, where farming was problematic in good years, the cooler climate did not quite support agriculture. In May 1816,[1] frost killed off most crops, on June 4 frosts were reported in Connecticut, and by the following day most of New England was gripped by the cold front.[7] On June 6, snow fell in Albany, New York, and Dennysville, Maine.[8]

I find the thought personally terrifying.

Glad I didn't dress for 60 today. It felt much cooler than that here in Wally World up until about 4-5 PM I think.

Cam- Any thoughts on Long Island Sound water temps? They look well below normal for this time of the year. Might have an effect on the shoreline this spring being much colder than normal. Those southerly sea breezes are going to make it quite cold along the shoreline for awhile until the waters warm up.

I also read that Sea Temperatures throughout New England are 3-7 degrees below normal.

Saw this NOAA site that shows the temp currently is 38. It shows we should be in the 40's and the average Apr 1-15th temp is 46!

Definitely will have effects. we might see some interesting gradients. Doesn't mean we can't warm up but it should mean the coast will stay much cooler then interior.

Today Bridgeport didn't pass 49 while Windsor Locks hit 60 and Hartford hit 56.

Hey Cambium, any word on the Apr 8-10th storm. I remember you saying there was a chance of frozen precip with it? What have the models done with it? Rain or mix/snow? Or have they lost the system all together?

Nah. Warm rains most likely as storm tracks west of us. Might be your type of weather. Low clouds, wind, ect.

Check out what the Euro00z says for wind gusts

Canadian.
