I wouldn't be surprised! -- DC and Philly flirting with 80's as we speak.

I forgot how uncomfortable this weather is. 71° here in SWCT.

BDR max of 67°F so far is the first time above 66° since October 22nd! Long time since we had that temp.

  • Tuesday Night Rain and snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
  • Wednesday A chance of snow showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 43. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...

THE EXTENDED OPENS WITH THE WARMEST AIR MASS OF THE YEAR IMPACTING THE FORECAST AREA...AND THEN BIG CHANGES COME WITH A SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT FOR MONDAY NIGHT INTO THE MID WEEK.

THE LOW LEVEL COLD ADVECTION STRENGTHENS IN THE WAKE OF THE SFC COLD FRONT FOR A TRANSITION TO SNOWFALL INITIALLY OVER THE MTNS WEST OF THE HUDSON RIVER VALLY TUESDAY NIGHT...THEN SHIFTING EASTWARD OVER THE REST OF THE AREA. THE BUFKIT GFS PROFILE IS HINTING AT AN INCH OR TWO OF WET SNOW EVEN FOR KALB...SOME THE LATEST GEFS PLUMES ALSO HINT AT SOME WET SNOW OR A LIGHT WINTRY MIX.
Nice. Even Upton mentions the flakes now.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW YORK NY
439 PM EDT FRI APR 11 2014

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
HIGHS GENERALLY 70-75 INLAND AND IN THE 60S ALONG THE COAST. PERSISTENT SOUTHERLY FLOW ON THE PERIPHERY OF OFFSHORE SFC HIGH PRESSURE WILL ALSO ADVECT IN A MORE HUMID AIR MASS OVER THE COLD ATLANTIC WATERS WITH DIURNAL LOW CLOUDS AND FOG MAINLY NEAR THE COAST SUNDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY MON MORNING AND THEN MORE WIDESPREAD MON NIGHT INTO TUE MORNING.

THE FOG ALONG THE IMMEDIATE SOUTH SHORES OF LONG ISLAND AND SE CT WILL LIKELY RESPOND MORE SLOWLY IF AT ALL TO WARMING OVER LAND AND COULD HANG IN ALL DAY MON-TUE...OR AT LEAST COME IN BEFORE SUNSET EACH DAY.

PRECIP COULD END AS A BRIEF PD WET SNOW OR A RAIN/SNOW MIX FROM NYC NORTH/WEST AS COLDER AIR FILTERS IN.

NOTICEABLY COLDER AIR WILL COME IN FOR LATE MON NIGHT/TUE WITH LOWS IN THE 30S AND HIGHS ONLY IN THE 40S.

I read NWS Albany and I almost dropped out of my chair. LOL!!! I read too quick and saw Connecticut and significant snow accumulations. It's for higher elevations in MA/NY I guess.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBANY NY
350 PM EDT FRI APR 11 2014

.LONG TERM /MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
THE EXTENDED PERIOD OPENS UNSETTLED WITH SIGNIFICANT COOLING...AND A
GOOD POTENTIAL FOR A WINTER STORM IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

A COLD FRONT WITH WAVES WILL PASS THROUGH EAST CENTRAL NEW YORK AND WESTERN
NEW ENGLAND ON TUESDAY...WITH PLENTY OF MOISTURE ON TAP INTO
WEDNESDAY. LOW TEMPERATURES MONDAY NIGHT WILL RANGE FROM AROUND 40
DEGREES IN THE WESTERN ADIRONDACKS...TO THE UPPER 50S DOWN THE
HUDSON VALLEY. HIGHS ON TUESDAY COULD BOUNCE BACK A FEW DEGREES...
BUT MAY ACTUALLY JUST HOLD STEADY. TUESDAY NIGHT...THE NORTHWEST
WINDS TAKE HOLD...TEMPERATURES PLUMMET...AND RAIN SHOWERS BEGIN TO
MIX WITH SNOW...CHANGING OVER TO PURE SNOW SHOWERS AT MOST LOCATIONS
OUTSIDE OF THE HUDSON AND UPPER CONNECTICUT VALLEYS BY DAYBREAK
WEDNESDAY. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS IN THESE AREAS MAY BE SIGNIFICANT.
LOW TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM THE UPPER TEENS IN THE WESTERN

LI Weather Guy is at it again on FB with another supposed Euro run, but he admits it probably means just a brief period of wet snow:

Bridgeport max of 70 today happened before the average date of April 14th. Go figure. Lol

Average date to hit 80 is May 10th.

And why is it dry outside. I needed rain! Put down the crabgrass stuff

Will today be the day that New Britain finally reaches 70 F/21 C? I think we fell just short yesterday with 69 F/20 C, but was at work, so I'm not sure. Only in the last three days have I seen any tiny buds on the trees. Nothing in my yard quite yet. It was 65 F/18 C at last check.

I told you guys you would love this weekend. Beautiful outside. Dry and warm. Thin high clouds around. Only thing missing are the blooms. Only buds are around. Not even any tulips yet.

Current Temps & Dewpoints.

Northern CT 28°F. the Coast 44°F dew point.. Ahh, the joys of coastal living..
I'd rather have warmer temps and drier dew points then higher dew points and cooler temp.

Why would Long Island be drier than coastal CT??

Ahhh, I see... check out the wind direction!! Coastal CT from the southwest. Long Island from the North.
