Not as nice today as I thought it'd be. A little cool and mostly cloudy. Yesterday afternoon was nearly perfect.

I saw the forecast was for clouds this morning, maybe it will be sunny and warmer this afternoon?

Feels like the Pacific Northwest here. Mid 50's and damp, cloudy and foggy. Looking at the satellite view maybe we will see some sun later today? NWS has New Haven's high at 72.

Yeah, clouds should dissipate for afternoon sun. Watch the gradient out there. We might see mid 70s interior and upper 50s at the coast or low 60s

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/... THE THREAT FOR SHRA HAS ENDED FOR TODAY AS TEMPS ALOFT WARM PROVIDING A CAP. SIGNIFICANT TEMP GRADIENTS EXIST ACROSS THE CWA...WITH KJFK AT 59 AND KLDJ 76 AT NOON...25 MILES APART. MODIFIED TEMPS FOR THIS AFTN WITH THE HUDSON RIVER ROUGHLY DIVIDING THE 50S TO LOWER 60S FROM THE MID TO UPR 70S. SURF CAMS INDICATE OFFSHORE MIST/HAZE...BUT WITH THE INCREASING WIND WILL KEEP ANY FOG OFFSHORE TIL THIS EVE. THE SOLID SLY BREEZES WILL CONTINUE ACROSS CT AND LI...PARTICULARLY ALONG THE COASTS...WITH SW WINDS ACROSS THE WRN ZONES AS WLY COMPONENT WINDS ALOFT ARE MIXED DOWN.

That guy with the crazy snow runs supposedly from the Euro posted this this morning regarding big afternoon temperature differences today. I had decided not to post it thinking I'd look foolish, but it's not completely off (though still different as posted here, Hartford and most of northern CT are around 70 right now, not 60), right now it's 62 in Bridgeport and JFK Airport (and upper 50s on most of Long Island), the around 70 in Central Park and LaGuardia, but low-mid 80s in most of NJ right now, and only 51 at Logan Airport Boston, wow what gradiants over relatively short distances:

That image is from the HRRR model and its the long range for hour 15.. meaning that graphic was from overnight update for 2pm today.

25 miles huh. Amazing what specific locations does to that thermometer.

Torching 80s in the East!

Syracuse 81° while 62° at Bridgeport, 55 in Groton. It's 10-25 above normal NC to NY

Close up with dew points bottom right. yesterday DPs in the 40s MUCH better. You can feel the mugginess today in the 50s here with same temp.

So the CT Valley and even higher elevations are in the mid 70s while nearby or the coast in the 60s and SouthEast CT in the 50s!

I just took a drive up 91 to the Hartford area from Branford. Was 58 when I left my house. My car showed 78 in the Hartford area! Talk about a gradient!
