The storm damage in western CT (Southbury in particular) is crazy. Many of the main roads are closed and there are branches everywhere.

A/C for me is either on or off. We don't have the window units where we could easily pop it on in the bedroom for a bit. So it is either on in the house and everything is closed up (July/August), or off and windows/doors are open for fresh air. It seems too much a waste for cooling the house down when everything is just going to be re-opened soon enough. A ceiling fan does a great job of keeping things flowing in the meantime.

Great for me but I need sun for my crop, this is crazy now. Nothing is growing. The warmth isn't long enough.

Check out Boston.. 50 for the low. 50 for the high so far. 1pm and still around 50. Not that often that happens end of May.

I heard a little but wow. Thanks! Just from a nasty cell that came from the north.

Guess they didn't get around to trimming those trees back. Looks like about "20 feet" of it fell.

What a joke CL&P is. You think they would have learned their lesson after Irene, and then after Sandy. Someone needs to come in and do it better and do it for less as we pay the highest (or maybe 2nd highest) electric rates of all 50 states.

The National Weather Service accessed the damage from yesterday's storm in New Milford and Southbury.

By examining the way the trees fell and how much damage there was they were able to determine the damage yesterday was due to straight line wind damage with max winds of 100 mph. Basically a very strong downdraft. Meteorologist Sam Kantrow and Intern Frank Gaetano are in New Milford tonight getting a first hand look at the damage. Click through the slides to see some of the images they sent!

42.1° the low about half hour ago here.

If I didn't know it was June in 2 days I'd take my snow shovel out of storage.

6:15am temps, departures, and dewpoints. Only north of Baltimore is below normal. 30s made it down into CT. Dry!

Bridgeport, CT number of days minimum temp of 45° or less this May is 3. May 2013 had 13!

Number of days max temp was 65° or warmer this May 7. Last yr May had 16.

Still 2 days left of data but obviously this May has warmer lows than last year but cooler highs.
