New posts are sick. Hope the roofs hold up.

23 degrees here right now. Wood stove working hard.

You know this would be my absolute nightmare, right?

OMG, why would anyone live there???

Yep! I wonder the same thing too! Like I said earlier, they'd have to pay me a crapload of $$$$$ to want to live there!

BDR (and every tri-state area station except EWR and Central Park) had record lows today.

Looks like per OKX they will all have record low highs for the date too (Central Park breaking one from 1882 is truly amazing! Their high so far was 32 today and it's dropped):

Crazy cold! I'm learning the body goes through natural course based on location. Meaning... in December I wouldn't think this was cold but because it doesn't happen often in November it's not used to it..

Just think... this was probably all normal in the 1800s. Don't you wish we had records for 300yrs+?

BDL low was 20°. Last time it was 20 degrees was 3/27. Mean is 11/25. So it's pretty normal about a week early.

Bridgeport hit 23°, last time was 3/27, It's the earliest hitting 23° since 1996. Mean 12/2 so they're 2 weeks earlier than norm.

Impressive cold air mass from the Arctic.

Here are the current OBS sorted by Max temps Highest to Lowest. Danbury didn't pass 31!

From a NYC weather blog I follow.....probably applies to BDR and BDL too but I don't have their stats on it (though per Cambium above the last time for BDR is probably 1996 so not as long ago):

"Although the morning low of 22 degrees was four degrees shy of the record (in 1936) it was the coldest reading to occur before Nov. 20 since 1986 (when there was a low of 22 on Nov. 14)".

I do, would bolster (or perhaps bolster the disproving of) "global warming". If you go the NWS website for Albany, they do somehow in their "records" section have some records going back to the late 1700s (Central Park's 1869 is one of the furthest "officially back" out there), and it does seem to suggest that in the late 1700s/early 1800s while many years were as cold as the late 1800s, some months/years were as warm if not a bit warmer than today. For example, 2012 is their warmest year on record, but they claim the 2nd warmest was way way back in 1828:

Who had a morning low of 22? I can check their site/stats. If NYC then yeah... hasn't been that cold this early since 1986. Wow
