Just wait for our roller coaster to drop! CT should have their own Kingda Ka when all is said and done

5:25pm temp update. Still in the 60s across most of CT. Yet I have my fire lit because the inside of the house had a chill to it.

Seems like higher elevations are warmer than lower elevations.

I'm still amazed by Albany vs. Pittsfield on that map.....imagine a day where Danbury is 35 and Bridgeport is 60 the entire day! If a day like that ever happens here, I'd love to drive between the two that day and feel the weird contrast.

Anyway, interesting graphic from OKX with the high temps:

Cold air is still on tap after our cold front moves through-- the temp difference should be quite jarring. This should significantly help out CT's ski areas for the rest of Christmas week, though (concerning snow making)! Temps in the Northwest corner could be in the single digits...

A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 60 DEGREES WAS SET AT BRIDGEPORT CT
TODAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 59 SET IN 1998.

So every Climo site in Uptons area has broken a record. Wow.

If Central Park doesn't get below 60 before midnight, it will be the latest in the year that a Cooling Degree Day was ever recorded. In fact the only other time one was recorded there in December was back in 1998 during a string of 70+ degree days early in the month (i.e. before the 8th.....the focus of the NWS chart I posted earlier today was for 70+ after Dec. 8th) when one was recorded on each of 2 separate days. In fact, channel 7 news said this will likely become the first time ever in CPK that a December day had a low above 60.

(In case anyone is curious, the earliest in the calendar year one was recorded at Central Park was on March 13, 1990 during their incredible 85 degree day).

Another warm morning. I had the doors and windows open.

Rain all day today from the front coming back East and south. Some embedded heavier spots as seen in yellows. You can see Rhode Island already in the 30s. Temps will drop throughout the day now. Maybe some spots ending as light snow.

Hour by hour air temp. Won't have time later to pull this so here it is so far...

Less than 40hrs of temps above 50 in December.
