Not sure if you're interested in bringing your son to New Fairfield, but I just read a pretty impressive article in my local paper about Natalia Budyonny and Alexander Budyonny, husband/wife classical piano instructors who reside and teach here in New Fairfield (in addition to teaching in NYC and Westchester Co.) Three of their young piano students in New Fairfield (11, 9, and 8 years old) were selected to perform in the American Protege competition at Carnegie Hall. The competition selects 33 finalists among all applicants worldwide. For 3 to come from the same instructor and the same town seemed kind of impressive to me. The article goes on to say that Natalia and Alexander have taught classical piano, voice and composition for almost four decades in the former Soviet Union and the USA. There's a telephone number listed -- let me know if you're interested and I'll either post it here or PM it to you.

Yes, please . You can either post and PM me. New fairfield is not too far away and in any case I am not too hopeful I will find someone very close. And a few extra minutes to an excellent teacher is worth the effort. Thank you.

OK, I will send it later this evening -- The newspaper w/ the number is sitting on my kitchen table, and I'm at the office right now

Here you go: (914) 886-2244 or 2233. That must be the number to the school in Westchester County -- I could only imagine that they didn't want to publish their home phone number in the local paper. But the article clearly states lessons are offered in New Fairfield: "... Alexander is a prolific performer and recording artist who holds the prestigious Distinguished Artist of Russia title, which he was awarded by President Putin, and Natalia holds multiple awards for piano instruction. They provide instruction in piano, voice, composition and music theory to numerous students (including professional pianists) in New York City, Westchester County and here in New Fairfield."

I hope it works out!
