See. Even Jay said it. $75K is low for FFC. There's no light at the end of the tunnel. I need to leave the area soon.

Lol not really. But I just wish I could go back in time so that this FFC chapter in my life never happened. I can't imagine living here long term. And I think my reasons are valid. I mean, what's the big deal? I'm being rational here. And even Jay openly admitted that $75K isn't good for FFC, for someone who wants to purchase property one day. I mean, would YOU live in a super expensive place at the age of 29 when family and friends who are younger than you are buying homes already in other places. And if you don't even like the area at all?

Rational would be appreciating the job you have and finding a place to rent that's more suited to you. And then looking at Stratford/Milford near the train stations when it comes time to buy. THAT'S rational. Not panicking and leaving.

Even though I don't like FFC? God, please don't tell me I have to settle down and live in this county for the long term. God no.

Well, how can I force myself to like it here? Any tips? Seriously...if I learn to like it, I might be okay. But...ugh.

Dude quit your drama. Stop asking people here for tips because you already made up your mind. You are just addicted to drama.

Start searching for a new place...that's your next step. You're a 30 year old working professional and you can't figure this out?? lord help us.

How can you judge an entire county (which, btw, is just an imaginary border for all intents and purposes) based on living in one city, and not in particularly fitting area of that city?

I think that's your problem. I would move ASAP.

Remember, you wouldn't listen to anyone here when we said repeatedly not to move to Norwalk and to look at New Canaan, quieter areas of Stamford, Wilton, Westport, etc. - or commute via train from Fairfield/Stratford/Milford.

If you believe you're under compensated for your position relative to being in lower FFC, ever ask yourself why?

Yeah but a home isn't just a material item. It's a necessity. And it's a key component of a sound retirement plan. It's good to have no home payment while living in retirement.
