Houses in CT are not that in-expensive unless they are in a not so good area and need work, I would suggest going to Moderator cut- no real estate ads permitted on state forums- PM or DM only- sorry. Skytrekker. I would suggest the Torrington,Terryville,Plymouth,Winsted,Winchester area's as nice towns and reasonable priced.

Countrywide Foreclosures (REO) Blog - Housing Bubble

Here is a link to Countrywide's REO properties. Please note that there is a link to Chase and BofA etc. Most have foreclosed properties in CT and some are in your price range. I would offer considerably less as these banks are not interested in owning them. Good luck.
