I would be leery of anywhere *that* cheap but with that said...a quick search using my travel software (I travel for business frequently) shows there is a Super 8 in Danbury in the $50 range.

Try the Crowne Plaza Southbury - you might be able to get a good deal on Expedia or Hotels.com.

Try the Milestone Inn in Woodbury... it's completely renovated and a few miles from 84. Not sure on the pricing but it's definitely on the inexpensive side for the area.
