On edit, to keep with the original post. We often go thru New York on our camping trips, and you can tell the difference.....I84 is much better in Connecticut.
Where in New York do you drive? You can NEVER predict what drivers in New York are going to do unless you are sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. Jay.

You can never predict what drivers anywhere are going to do.

I can predict what the Bridgeport racerboys in old Hondas and Suburus with aftermarket exhausts on 95 and the 25 connector are going to do.

I've had very little issues when driving in New York, and starting to become accustomed to Connecticut.....my biggest problem with Ct. is that they don't know how to merge into traffic properly

Again, where in New York do you drive? Any and every time I drive there, I have seen a LOT of bad drivers. And that includes people who don't know how to merge onto a highway. Jay

Again. Flowing nicely even though was way too crowded. All of a sudden stopped and backed up for miles. Evey friggin time I'm on this highway!!! Wtf

8:45am. Car on flatbed back end was smashed. Van probably didn't realize the 3rd lane on the interstate becomes a parking spot for exit 3 ramp in Greenwich.

Does the state not see statistics of accidents in this spot alone? Wtf

NY metro drivers all suck and I think most of us can agree that people on the western side of the NY/CT state line drive just as horribly as those on the eastern side. Any area that is (relatively) densely populated has "bad drivers." Pick a densely populated metro area and I guarantee you, the locals will crab about the terrible drivers. I say that with authority, as I have lived in the west, south and northeast, in urban areas and in fairly quiet areas like Vermont. Guess what? Dense population = crappy drivers EVERYWHERE.

You have to be kidding. These are some of the worst roads in the region with some of the worst drivers there is. They far exceed the bad driving here in Connecticut IMHO. I think you just may not notice it. Jay

I have to agree. I grew up on those roads and I am driving 30 years now. There are some crazy drivers there but in my experience, it was closer to Yonkers, Bronx areas. I grew p in Westchester and there are good and bad drivers everywhere. I have mentioned it before but my 2 biggest complaints about driving in CT is :
1: Merging onto parkways.......for some reason most drivers here don't know how to do it properly anymore.
2: Very aggressive tailgaters with no real concern for anyones safety ......more on the Merritt for me and probably because it is only 2 lanes......
