It's warmer in Silicon Valley where a lot of the tech jobs are.

Nothing close to as cold as here. And am I the only person that thinks 70 degree summer sounds perfect? I would much prefer that to FL or LA (city) summers.

The only problem with SF is the fog. I do agree that their temps are perfect though. 60's and 70's in summer with cool nights sounds awesome!

There's a lot more problems than that lol. It's not even on the list of places I would move, despite having 8000 job postings in my field compared to about 1200 in CT or TN. If those other things don't matter to this family though, they would be (in terms of there career) positioning themselves very nicely.

That being said, if CT is equal in jobs to where OP is now and they are looking for change it might be right for them. I'm leaving CT for a state which has about the same size job market for me as CT, but it has everything else that I want. If the culture here is appealing to OP and the job market comparable, it's still a win.

I certainly don't have my finger on the pulse of the QA job market in CT these days, so I'm just offering one data point....I worked as an IT QA lead several years back for a large Hartford-area Healthcare company, and that company is now outsourcing much of that work (or hiring lower-cost hourly contractors). But I suspect that this is a trend nationwide, so I don't think that CT is necessarily a bad place to find this type of work.
