I know that this question might be a little bit different, but I figured that there might be some people on here who have been through a similar situation.

I got pulled over for speeding this past weekend in NY (yes, I've learned my lesson and all that). I'm still deciding what to do but wanted to know if anyone could answer something.

I am currently a NY resident, but will be moving to CT in May. Does anyone know if points that I receive on my NY license will carry over to the CT one. I am concerned because NY allows you to reduce points with a driver safety class (unlike CT) but I don't know if I would be able to complete one and get everything reduced by the time I move.

Thanks for any help!

I doubt it. I got a speeding ticket in New York last May and it has not carried over to my Connecticut license.

You were a resident of Connecticut at the time though, correct? I am worried about the points being placed on my license by NY while I am still a resident, then them being transferred over once I move. I honestly don't know if this is treated any differently than if I was already a CT resident.

I don't know for sure either. But they seem not to recognize violations from New York State.

You,could send an email to the Connecticut DMV and pose the question. That's what I did when I got my ticket.

Connecticut's point system is also very different from New York's.
