They live way down on the southern shore, down in the old New Haven colony...you can't get any more South than that ....you would be in the Long Island Sound ....

Then over long winding railways they pioneer themselves out west...through the treacherous woodlands...only stopping the rest after exhausting stretches ....

First stop new haven
Then Bridgeport
Fairfield metro
Fairfield
Westport
Southport
Norwalk
Allll the way to Greenwich
Like Oregon trail pioneers

Or would you say the state is a honey I shrunk the whole rest of the US into a small mini-version of it all
With prairie being Simsbury and old farms
The Rocky's being bear mountain region

Southern whiskey in Wallingford

The Hartford ct river valley representing the mighty mississippi and the railroad tracks the big Georgia-pacific

Can I please know what you are smoking? This makes no sense at all. You are comparing commuting to pioneering. While I agree riding the metro north train is just as dangerous...lol this does not make them "southerns" or pioneers. You know there are places south of Connecticut.

Several years ago -decades? - we did a camping trip of the northeast and stopped at a campground in CT for a night. I am in MD and know what a redneck is. There are rednecks in CT as well.

Are you saying southerners are rednecks?

Many original grandparent majority southerners are redneck by any stretch. The ones who aren't expatriates that is and the ones who never incited any reforms and lived the Jim Crow era. They lived and nurtured in a Dixie Democrat (now Neo-con republican since 1964) solid south for 100 years and never once overturned it or rallied against it. This is a fact and I'm speaking the truth here.

It was a system that saw no problem with a use of Jim Crow laws, poll taxes and literacy tests to keep African American people from voting, subjectively deciding even the scoring of the so called literacy tests...leading a basically tyrannic dictatorship system fixed so black people can never qualify to cast a vote. Then they used the fixed 100% Caucasian voters to vote for the same candidates again and again who support Jim Crow segregation, appoint judges who acquit white racist lynchers and prosecute every black crime even the slightest decree.

And they are the reason some poor minority descendents have become dependent on Connecticut public assistance. They faced education deprivation down south, came up here without a footing to escape racial oppression, and up here the school districts have not helped improve the fate of these people because public schools are not integrated well..Bridgeport and Fairfield have basically nothing in common institution-wise except public transportation.

So generations of poor people who are treated as if they had equal opportunities upon which they never had, are now in New England the ones who law enforcement will ticket and fine for things like panhandling, disrupting the peace, etc. It's an endless cycle.
