so we are about to finalize paperwork next week on a apartment in middletown its off of saybrook road and randolph road the apartment complex is woodbury.

we saw the apartment today they are fixing it up and will be ready for when we do move in, but i want to make sure the area is decent and safe before me and my so both sign the final papers and get the deposits going.

the only negative is we both each have a car and they only have one parking space per apartment but she said most people have two cars and visitor is 24 hours so she said the way around that is to have one park in the assigned space then switch off in the visitor space . which i think its crazy that they don't have min 2 spaces per unit

That's a perfectly safe area of Middletown. Although I have no idea of the people that live in the complex.

my grandparents used to live off of Randolph Rd. It's primarily a residential area, so should be safe. As with Willow Wind above, no idea on the complex itself.

Middletown is perfectly safe. Only area that's a little sketchy is the north end of downtown, but even that is NOTHING compared to hartford/new britain/meriden/new haven ect. Dowtown middletown has greatly improved in recent years. The rest of middletown is basically suburbs no different than rocky hill.

Ditto this. I don't know of that specific complex but that area is residential/safe like most of Middletown, as mikelizard860 pointed out above.

It's the outskirts of town, but perfectly safe. If you continue South down Saybrook, it gets pretty low-end industrial.

Yes, it is safe. It is a little odd about the parking but if you are willing to deal with it, go for it. Jay

It's a safe area. If you're concerned about finding a spot, take a swing by at night and see if people are double parked or there are still empty visitor spots.
