Took me over 30 mintues to drive 8 miles home from Hartford to Glastonbury when there were no accident and no disabled vehicles along my route?

Normally takes 15 to 20 min.

God its so frustrating. I can ride my back as fast.

I don't see how anyone can deal with this everyday in SW CT and NYC. I would literally go insane. I can't think of anything that is more of a waste of time than dealing with this

Is Rt 2 still unpaved? People can't handle driving on that. I had to run an errand last night in the rain and people were doing 40 on that at best

Consider yourself lucky up there (no 95 or 15). Hartford does get a decent amount of traffic though, considering its employment center, and carrying two of the busiest freeways in CT.

Yup, Route 2 is still grooved pavement heading eastbound out of Hartford up until just before Exit 5D. You are right, people can't deal with it. Traffic has been horrible every evening since they ripped it up. They don't seem to be in any rush to pave. It is especially worrisome that they painted permanent lane markings on the grooved pavement

They're in the process of slooooowly paving the eastern exits of Glastonbury, as well...

This really should take 3 days or so..yet has been going on for much of the month.

The western end of Route 2 really needs to be fixed....traveling through East Hartford through exit 8 in Glastonbury is a pretty bad mix of 3 lanes merging into 2, sharp curves, and practically no shoulder. Why was Route 2 not fixed when I-84 and I-91 were?

Keep in mind that most residents of inland FFC towns don't drive on 95 any more than you do, thus don't experience the traffic. Once you get one town inland, the traffic and congestion is less than you'd find in Farmington or Avon.

I see your comments on here about never wanting to live in FFC (even if a house was 100k? ), but it just shows how little you know about the area.

I noticed as of yesterday evening they had part of Route 2 paved from Hartford heading east, though most of the "5" lettered exits are still a mess. At least that gave me hope that they are actually working on it.
