It's really not. Harbor Point/Stamford is all high rises. These apartments are only 5 or so stories. Additionally, what is going in around here makes sense--it's a good mix of family restaurants, stores, and entertainment.

Norwalk has a great community with very well planned infrastructure. With everything going up around us, it's a real hotbed for development -- at least in our eyes."

You have to give Tralka the credit for his foresight in seeing what is happening down here in Norwalk," said Stanley Seligson, chairman and CEO of the Norwalk-based real estate development firm Stanley M. Seligson Properties. "With the area's fast development, I think for them to have located their headquarters here shows a lot of confidence in the City of Norwalk.

The apartment buildings that we were talking about in Norwalk are directly related to the shopping center. The Nordstrom Rack that is going in (as part of the shopping mall project) is going into these. The mall is also the reason numerous retailers are moving into the bottom (which is all retail) floors of the apartments.

Norwalk is smaller urban version of Stamford with less jobs and an aquarium but the city is improving. Alot of Young professionals are moving there but it cost pricey.

While the River Esplanade seems very cool, and I'm sure will generate some business....it also seems silly, since there is a paved walk from where the entrance of the mall will be to the aquarium already...and it's maybe a 10th of a mile (if that.) People (singles, families, etc) already walk/run it all the time.
