Westfield did the same thing to Trumbull. They took what was a decent middle to upper middle class mall and filled it with cheap crap stores. Definitely attracts a different crowd and scares aware some upscale shoppers. I know people in Easton and Fairfield that drive up to Danbury because of it. Wish they would sell Trumbull too but I believe it is one of their most profitable centers. Jay

It'll never be built.
Not really. It was scheduled to start construction this year but that seems unlikely at this point. They still need to get local and state approvals. Deals like this are very complication and subject to fluctuations in the financial markets. That could happen here is the economy takes a drive soon but given that the developer is very reputable, I think this has a shot at getting built. We will see. Jay

The Bridgep..I mean Trumbull Mall is the worst mall ever, from the clientele to the Cheesecake factory with the fake outdoor seating.

Did you really expect more from a middle of the road chain restaurant? Jay

It was exactly what I expected. What gets me is the long waits and high prices. It's much more expensive than Applebee's or Chili's but the same junk food. Those people could be supporting great local restaurants. Sad how low some people's food standards are.

I agree. I'm a clean eater but I have my "cheat meal" (+ drinks) once a week. Even my cheat meals don't have the subpar ingredients and sodium you'd find in Chilis/Applebee's/Cheesecake Factory type dishes. I'll go to a local joint where the food is made fresh.

I also agree which is why we avoid these places (add olive Garden to the list too). The salt content in their foods is significant and a lot of it is processed. Yuck. And yet people line up for it like drug addicts. Oh well, to each their own I guess. Jay

Be awesome if they collaborated with local restaurants to be a part of the outlet mall.

Anyone know what's going on with this?

Last I read they were possibly resorting to eminent domain.
