Woah, now that's an exotic move. Even though it's even more expensive COL in Europe than CT, I don't think I could give up the opportunity to live there at least for a few years. Way cool.

What made you decide not to? My wife would prob divorce me because I would be snowboarding with all my free time.

6 of one, half a dozen of another. Wouldn't you say?

NYers are leaving to move to other states, hence NY isn't gaining population, while states that NYers are moving to are.

NYers are leaving from all over the state - esp Long Island. Who wants to pay $400K for a 70 yr old house on LI that needs $75K - $100K worth of updates, and $15K a year in property taxes?

Got ya. Population growth in Uganda is 3.4%. In the US it's 0.7.

That means Uganda is more desirable right?

Uganda? what?

did you look at my original post? it was about NY state losing 2 congressional seats due to a reduction in population - from emigration. From 2000 - 2010, NY has lost 3.4 million due to migration exodus.

It's not losing population. There is net growth. It isn't growing as fast as other states. Jay mentioned this. You also want to make a political statement about this drawing a straight line between high tax environments in growth-- Ignoring the fact that NYC the highest tax locale of all is growing even faster...

And sorry, I don't read links from CNS News. Good grief-- Is Fox not biased enough for you?

net growth? sure - babies are born everyday. look, I don't need to provide you with links. I trust you know how to use Google. Spin this any way you'd like, then have a look at migration patterns and areas with economic growth. Those are the facts.
