I haven't been back in 5 years, and I'm really missing it. Have a few questions.

1. Where are they building the new Waypointe condos? Are they where they tore down the strip where Diamond Jims and the shoe repair was, or is it down towards the Reed/Putnam area?

2. The hospital. Why are they redoing the ER? That was only remodeled about 15 years ago.

3. What became of the old police station behind Lockwood Mathews?

Also, I may head up there next year. I'll be staying with family out of town, but I may spend the night in Norwalk. What would be a good hotel suggestion around the 95 corridor? Is the Doubletree off exit 13 still okay?

Why on earth would you be homesick of Norwalk? I just moved here one year ago from the Hartford area and this place is ghetto, run down and gritty.

A condo complex is under construction (or maybe they are done, haven't been through there in a while) on West Avenue near the Acura dealership. Don't know if that's Waypointe, but the render is very nice.

I was born and raised there. Went to school and made some great friends in that city. I know it's not the greatest, but it'll always be home.

Why on earth would you question her sincerity on missing Norwalk?

Seriously? If they were born and raised there why wouldnt they miss it? Sure, the place is really grungy these days but you have no right to question why someone would be "homesick" or not. Common sense.

Sounds bitter and jealous. Let me guess - not enough salary to afford a better area, forced to rent a crappy apt in a crappy area probably just off the post road towards south norwalk, not willing to go to Bridgeport, and never driven around Cranbury, Silvermine, West Norwalk, Rowayton - am I right?

I was asking myself the same question, Raider.

The majority of Norwalk would be perfectly fine for most people if they don't need to use the public school system.

I was going to say- Many parts of Norwalk are very pleasant, and some are downright nice. I think it's pretty unfair to judge the whole city by the challenging areas. Rowayton anyone?
