I've never in my life associate Boston with pizza. Move New Haven to at least #4 and then Chicago to #5. I can't speak for Italy but I have had traditional italian pizza before (benefits of marrying into an italian family) and it's amazing.

Being born in Brooklyn/Queens border, with an Italian mother, I was probably fed pizza before breastfed. I have come to dislike NY pizza. I would call it PizzaMex. Spanish guys ruin it for me, with their Aztec spices.

NH pizza is somewhat authentic. But, I mean, who cares?
I agree I am from the Bronx still love NY Pizza but it changed a lot from the 80/90's and even 2000 plus I think Pizza from Italy should be ranked #1

I can't say I've had direct experience with pizza from Italy, but a lot of people that I know that have tried some more renowned places there liked it - but weren't blown away at all. I wonder if people just assume because it's in Italy it's better? Is it REALLY better than NYC/New Haven?

I'm genuinely curious, as I haven't tried it.

I've had pizza in Rome, Florence and one other place that I can't remember, and it was excellent. My buddy lived in Naples for 3 years and he says that's the best pizza he's ever eaten, and he's been to NYC, New Haven and Boston.

There is a Neapolitan place in Nashville, Bella Napoli, and it is also amazing. Guy is from Naples and worth the two hour drive for me.
