Me, you and what? A couple dozen other people in the state? I thought i walked into a morgue instead of a polling place yesterday.

Yeah, it was quite shocking. When I arrived at my polling place, I even mentioned to the ladies who checked me in "am I the only one here today?" When I checked the town-by-town results in the news times today (greater danbury's version of ct post, advocate, and Greenwich time) I saw that only about 350 registered republicans in my town voted yesterday. Disgraceful ...

Follow up question for all to chime in: I've heard many times on the news that there's push-back on requiring photo identification as being a prerequisite to vote. My personal experience here in New Fairfield at my local polling place, which is the lower grade elementary school, is that I am ALWAYS asked to provide my photo ID when checking in. (First I have to state my address to the polling official; then my full name, including middle name; and then they ask for my drivers license (or passport as I had to provide once, because I was an idiot and let my license expire by a month).)
Are they, or are they not supposed to ask me for official identification? I personally don't care, because I was born in the US, live in Ct, and obviously have the right to vote and can prove it without any problem. I guess I'm just curious if everyone goes through the same scrutiny though. ????

It's always elderly, and i mean elderly, moderators running the polls in my town. I don't say a word. I just lay my license down in front of them.

Same in my town! I would never question those elderly men /women either. Just curious if you HAVE to comply. For what it's worth, I always will (out of fear for my life!) do what they say . Lol!

I don't think we're ever going to have a governor that will push the right things.
Foley needs to run on a few things but he won't.

Do away with Common Core
Cut corporate taxes
Do away with taxes on automobiles
Do away with state taxes
Raise sales tax

Tax capital gains and dividends and cut/get rid of income taxes, lol!

Yeah, I was thinking about how overwhelmingly conservative Connecticut towns are, but, atleast it's the better kind of conservatism compared to what you're thrown in the South. Most here are fiscal conservatives. Very capitalistic in mind. I respect their opinion and all, and they do bring up good points, but, I tend to disagree.

I wonder if that will change when the demographics shift. There are many middle aged and old folks in several of these towns. As the youth starts to vote more, I do believe that more towns will pass that 50% threshold between red and blue.

It seems reasonable to ask for a photo ID when voting. I don't really understand the resistance to it. Seems in this day and age an ID of some sort is need to do just about anything.
