The towns you mention are good places to look but keep in mind that they are very suburban in character with minimal mass transit. You will likely need a car to live in them. Also to answer your question, these towns all have very good shopping so that would not be a problem. Jay

If we go strictly by Indian community, Danbury is your best option, but it's around 45 mins away from Stamford by car. I know there are some decent Indian population in Norwalk and Stamford as well. Going by your overall message however, Fairfield or Greenwich is your best bet as it has amazing schools and close to Stamford/able to use the metro. Only downfall is that it'll be quite expensive. Good luck!

Why was my post considered a rant? I made a suggestion based on a similar situation from another Indian fellow. W. Norwalk has a decent Indian presence.

Wait. What?

You want to share a 1Br. apartment with another person. And your child?

She might be a single mom with one child who is finding a one bedroom out of her price range. I bet she is looking for another single mom with one child who rents a 2 to 3 bedroom apartment where she can have one of the bedrooms for her and her child.

I know single moms with one child who rent apartments with other single moms because they just can't make it in Fairfield County on their own. Nothing wrong in doing whatever you need to do to get by.

I was born and raised in Stamford and Strawberry Hill in Stamford would be a very nice safe place for her to live if she can get this kind of situation with another mom. It is a safe area with diversity.

Excuse me??? I am not looking to further share a 1 bed room. I am asking for sharing a two bed room apartment if any or looking for 1 bed room apartment.I think I was misunderstood here.Yes I am moving first with my kid and my husband would be taking a transfer later.

So I was looking for a shared accommodation.I hope now I stated myself clearly.I am looking for something in Stamford only.

Thanks,

I am so sorry about misunderstanding. I thought I missed something in another thread and went by the post that looked like it was only you your child.

Are you looking to share an apartment with someone until your husband gets transferred at a later time?

Apartment complexes, you could try these: Spinnaker Apartments in Milford, CT

They are not cheap, but less than Greenwich area. Safe and walkable to train station, groceries, bars, restaurants, parks, etc. Milford does have a slightly higher Asian population, though it does not specific what in the data on here.

I am not sure about complexes near the Greenwich or Fairfield train stations. You'll find the price goes up when they're near stations.

This is confusing. Are you, your husband, and child all looking to share an apartment with someone else? Or are you and your child looking for a temporary share situation? Check Craigslist, you might find someone looking for a roommate. It might be harder to find permanent roommates for all three of you though, that's highly unusual. Especially in a two bedroom apartment. But be careful with CL, not every ad is legit. And you have not stated your budget? That's very important as Stamford is quite expensive.
