Greenwich has it's share of snobs, that's for sure. But I used to live in Greenwich years ago, and you should have seen the lines that would develop outside stores selling lottery tickets when the pot grew really high, and the line at the entrance to the beach. Traffic jams, tempers flaring, it was a mess. They had a legitimate complaint about the excess crush of people, I hated it.

Default place to live with freedom & peace

I have found that the little town of Bolton, CT has the qualities you mention, and then some. No pressures, safety, no snobbery, tons of activities and access to sports and only 15 minute commute to Hartford (in the right direction! coming from western connecticut is a bear!)

Homes should start coming on the market in February, and with the low prices, should be a very opportune time to buy. Actually, one of my neighbors is talking about listing their home...

Bolton, CT is equi-distant to Boston and NYC, is surrounded by nature and fine restaurants, hospitals, and I have never experienced prejudice whatsoever here.

Good luck!
