The tide has turned.

Incumbent governor Dannel Malloy is now leading in the overall polls for governor of CT. Election day is only weeks away and it looks like he will be re-elected!

RealClearPolitics - Election 2014 - Connecticut Governor - Foley vs. Malloy

I am planning to vote for Malloy myself, because we simply cannot afford conservative policies in this state. But that's just my opinion and perspective on things.

I would take PPP as a pollster source with a grain of salt. Most media outlets will not quote PPP since they are partisan in nature. The more reliable sources (e.g. Quinnipiac) still show a toss up or a slight tilt to Foley.

Interesting take NEP, I'm surprised you support the candidate who will go deeper into your pocket when you are constantly bitching about cost of living. Don't sweat the social agenda as governors don't legislate morality and existing laws are tough to repeal. Do the right thing in November.

I don't think this poll is reliable. I think the race is a toss-up at this point. I am not enthralled with either candidate. I had some close up experience with current governor-- and his entrepreneurial programs. Not impressed. I also don't think Foley has any policies what-so-ever. Just very vague references and a lot of telling people what they want to hear. Foley will likely get my reluctant vote... But I am open to changing my mind.

Is this really the best we've got?

mlassoff, I couldn't have said it better myself. I was really hoping Jonathan Pelto would get a spot on the ballot.

The RCP poll is the most reliable on the internet. Their polling method has predicted the 2012 presidential election with 100% accuracy in ALL 50 states, even with close races. I would place a lot of stock in the RCP average poll.

Therefore, it is safe to say that Malloy will be re-elected and continue to lead the state for four more years.

Woot! Woot! Woot!

I will. I will vote for Dannel Malloy, even though I voted for Foley last time. Over the past year, I have become heavily in favor of Democratic policies and leadership instead of Republicans policies. Conservative policies are simply out of whack in this day and age.

Nep
Really surprised you would want Malloy for another 4 years. You complain the COL is too high now and how you can't afford a house. If Malloy gets elected taxes will go up which means everything will go up. That house search will continue for the next 10 years.

None of the candidates are stellar IMO.
