Good website; compares to what I just paid for oil. Signed a contract in my price bc I got a bunch of freebies. Cleaning, swap out old thermostats, remove two old radiators, any overage can be used for a/c tune up in spring. The companies are trying their hardest, I had three companies come in, that was the best proposal.

Curious to hear what freebies others got.

Some of the heating oil delivery companies were just sleazy. I won't name names but last year I signed a contract with a westport company, with delivery price capped at $3.05 (near the end of summer, 2014?) and that plan had a feature ability to adjust down the price when oil market price falls. At the time of sign up the oil price was at close to $100. If I have done pre-buy, the price would have been at $2.95 but I opted for $3.05 expecting the oil price to fall. So when the price dropped to close $55 months later, I was very happy but every delivery they made, there were no downward adjustment on the delivery price. Apparently they use there internal model (which they wouldn't disclose) for this downward adjustment and told me tough luck. Now I finally fulfilled my contract and decided to leave. Anyone had similar experiences with those plans that cap your price but allow adjust downs based on the oil market price?

Wow. Big drop again. These are wholesale prices at the port but just saw $1.50 on the heating oil website linked in a previous thread.

Got the wood stove going right now and only run the furnace when I am away on vacation or not home to keep the pipes from freezing.

Big savings for those who heat with oil which is good.

Oil prices are at their lowest in nearly 7 years

You always wonder if investors know the weather of the future. Seems like it always drops "before" we have a warm pattern in place.
