I normally don't agree with you Tetto, but you nailed it this time.

Nep if you clear 75k a year then that means you clear 1,442 dollars a week. If your apartment is 1,700 a month and you divide that by 4 that's 425 dollars a week. If you took 425 dollars a week from your check to go towards rent that still leaves you roughly 1,017 dollars a week from your paycheck.

So if you're a single guy, no car payment, no high grocery bills cause at this stage you have not started a family yet which is fine, so I know I'm only an outsider looking in but you could afford to take 425 a week out of your pay toward rent and still should be left with x amount left.

Staff accountants here dont clear 75, they gross it.

If you have a graduate degree in accounting then should know about budgeting incomes and based on my calculation and your posts about not having a car payment and such I would have to assume that you have more coming in then what you have going out.

That is not true. I only get $880 per week, after taxes and deductions. My rent is currently $1,750 a month. And I spend about $500+ per month on groceries and cafeteria combined for food. No car payment or any other debt payments, other than revolving credit card debt, which I pay off every month anyway.

Anyway, whatever. My budget can only handle up to $1,700 in rent (right now I'm over budget), which should be plenty, but here it's not. I am clamoring to get out of here and every single day over the past 18 months has been depressing for me.

I remember you had stated about having a spotty job record. As in, not holding a few jobs for too long. As an accountant, especially from CT with a Masters degree, and the experience you have told me personally, there's no reason why you shouldn't find a job flirting with 100k. I personally think you're paying the price of changing jobs too quick. Looks like you'll have to sober up here in Lower FFC before you can really chase dreams elsewhere. Who knows! By then, something might open up in Hartford County and you'll have enough money saved up to make a nice down payment and afford a decent place specified to your needs, lol!

Basically, I think you'll have to wait for a while, mate. Try to make the best of it till then!

By then, I'll be like 33 years of age, which is too bad, because I would like to make a move now, while I'm still young, to enjoy my next city.

So you are being taxed 29,240 dollars a year? 880 a week times 52 weeks is 45,760 anually, that's roughly a 29,240 dollar drop in annual pay if you factor in 75k gross minus actual take home. That's what happens when you vote in a bunch of socialist liberals.

Anyways now I can see why you are so desperate to get out and fully understand your situation. You're doing good when you can take a paycheck and pay your rent or mortgage, you are above your means rent wise, only other thing I can suggest is commit to commuting and move an hour out if that's feasible or move south. I know you say you don't like the south but in today's modern south, where I live, there are more northeast folks then there are true southern folks.
