I'm curious as to the exact neighborhood in LA you're from, too. Quiet, low-crime, good-sized modern homes, younger-skewing, right amidst all amenities, affordable??? I know all of LA and nowhere checks all those boxes. Take away affordable as a requirement and even then, the places that fit the bill (in say west LA and SaMo) are even more expensive than the most expensive parts of FFC, for what you get.

The requirements are not adding up for me.
Well, that's your experience. But I was able to find all of the above in Brentwood, Westwood, Studio City, and Pasadena. You can't have known LA that well, methinks.

Affordable in those areas? Sorry but these cities in California are a lot more expensive than anywhere in the Milford area including Fairfield. Those are among the priciest areas in California. Jay

Oh ok, then look into Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, Norwalk, Westport, Fairfield. Your all set then.

There are more rentals with updated/newer interiors than I'm finding in the Milford area, for less. Maybe they aren't in the best areas, though, which I can't say as I don't know what's what in that city. The market has been pretty dismal in Milford/Fairfield since a week before Christmas and my patience is wearing thing, which is why I was looking further at this point. I don't mind a quiet living area, as long as there are stores and such around. I understand it's not a long drive to Milford/FFLD Cty? But I'd have to see in person to know for sure.
Oh, no I'm not in area atm. I was supposed to come up today but since nothing has popped up on market, I decided to wait it out. I'm very curious about this newly built place. If anyone drives by, can they send me the number maybe? Thanks!
You need to understand something, the number of rentals at this time of the year is always low and that is not just here in Connecticut. People just don't move around the holidays. Keep your eyes open in the next month or two and you should see more on the market. Keep in mind though that Connecticut's rental market is among the tightest in the country so you will have to move fast once you see something you like. Good luck, Jay

I'll try to remember to snap a pic. There's a few apartment buildings under construction in Milford to meet demand. The vacancy rate is very low. Same with Fairfield. You have to be constantly looking at units to pop up.

They're not, though. I mean, yes, they are...but to me, those are affordable. The problem I'm finding in CT in general is finding places that are more updated, with central air and things. Otherwise, I'd have moved there already. This search is exhausting.

I am looking in those areas, plus some others. It's not easy to find a modern-ish place with updates, that's the issue.

Thanks. The truth is, I was told this is a good time to find places because of the fact that they're not snapped up as quickly. Things are slowly starting to get on the market, I just have to bide my time, I guess. It's just taking longer than I like...esp now that it's snowing.

That would be much appreciated, thanks!

I'm confused then. Brentwood and Westwood make Darien and Westport look like slums, so why would it be so hard to find something affordable. Downtown Stamford and Sono have very modern apts, and those two places look like Mogadishu compared to Brentwood and Westwood.
